To facilitate R programmers in applying their skills in analyzing Astrostatistics data that are publicly available.
To present the Astrostatistics projects at R-Ladies Chicago meetup.

Introduce the ASG initiative and recruit members to sign up (minimum of a 3 people required)
Check the lists of Astrostatistics projects and data:
- List of projects (from solar activity, galaxy redshift to exoplanets)
- Data list for Astrostatistics projects
- Data list for Exoplanets from Caltech, Open Exoplanet Catalogue, exoplanet.eu, exoplanets.org
- List of CRAN packages in R for Astronomy
- VOStat: a simple statistical web-service that lets you analyse your data without the hassle of downloading or installing any software
Start a project, finish it in 2-3 months period, and present the result at R-Ladies Chicago meetup
Collaborate (in the form of study group/mentoring/sponsporship) with:
- Open NASA
- Adler Planetarium, Chicago
- Society of Physics/Astronomy Students in Chicago
